This month’s newsletter begins with a transformative encounter with a white-tailed buck in Acadia National Park; two drastically different stories of rivers - one having been rejuvenated and the other in serious decline; how we can come to understanding that plants are sentient beings; and an examination of Nature Deficit Disorder, a psychological condition that exemplifies our disconnect with the natural world.

Amazon's Devastating Drought

Spring is here! The Vernal Equinox reminds us that time just keeps on turning and brings with it the reassurance of the cycle of the seasons. Time for rebirth, resurgence and reawakening love.

As Amma says, "Love is the only medicine that can heal the wounds of the world."

May this issue inspire more people to focus more on Mother Nature for Peace inside and outside, to contemplate our relationship with Her, to value Her, and put more effort into caring for Her in small and big ways.

GreenFriends strives to communicate the importance of treating Nature with respect and gratitude. We invite each of you Green Friends to share your ideas and experiences with your own gardening efforts as well as experiences with nature.

Please send your stories, comments and feedback to info@greenfriendsna.org
