Recycling and Composting - 2024 Tour

Perspectives from a Teen Dish Monitor

Historically, the autumn equinox has as its main symbolism the abundance of the harvest and the gathering of the fruits related to work. It is also an important time to express gratitude for the projects 'sown' throughout the year, as well as to begin to review what we have achieved and the 'harvest of the first fruits'.

As Amma says, "Let us be grateful. Then, each one of our actions will become an expression of the fullness of our gratitude towards Nature… When we become aware of the momentous acts of service that nature and all her creatures constantly render us, we wills feel love, admiration and reverence for all life-forms. Then, each one of our actions will become an expression of the fullness of our gratitude towards Nature."

May we all be grateful for the abundance of Nature, in all that she selflessly gives us without asking anything in return.

GreenFriends strives to communicate the importance of treating Nature with respect and gratitude. We invite each of you Green Friends to share your ideas and experiences of your own gardening efforts as well as experiences with nature.

Perspectives from a Teen Dish Monitor

Perspectives from a Teen Dish Monitor
During Amma’s North American tour, many people are called upon to do seva, otherwise known as ‘selfless service’. As the tours are completely volunteer-run, the seva shifts (normally two hours) are a very important part of a successful tour and also an opportunity for us all to embody Amma’s teachings. One example of a seva shift is Dish Monitoring.
